Weekend of firsts

Peanut ate scrambled eggs this weekend (and loved them,
but not as much as mashed potatoes) and he started crawling!
Sometimes it's a very traditional crawl and other times it's
more of a "scoot-hop-bear crawl."

Playing with his very tan cousin at Nannie's house.

Anything could be food, let's try it!
Friday nights get crazy at our house.

Toys

Someone suggested to us that this child doesn't have enough toys...

Don't listen to my parents, of course I need more toys.

Mother's Day

Peanut gave me two new mommy & baby books for me to read to him for Mother's Day. Oh, and donuts for breakfast. :) I decided to work off the donuts in the afternoon by mowing the backyard. Daddy had to keep pushing the stroller to the backyard because Peanut got fussy if he couldn't see me. Below are pictures of him with a Texas Longhorns cap handed down from his cousins. He decided he'd rather eat it than wear it.

Birthday weekend

Friends surprised me Saturday with a little birthday party. Jennifer hadn't met Peanut yet, so they had a grand time getting to know each other. Below, he's attempting to chew on her shirt sleeve.

Sunday we saw friends briefly, then just came home and relaxed. Well, Peanut & I relaxed while daddy mowed the backyard. It was a little too chilly to hang out outside.

Peanut was wearing a cute hoodie shirt but it's hard to tell because he must be bibbed pretty much At All Times because of the amount of Drool.

Baptism

Your children are not your children.
They are sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you.
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the make upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness.
For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He also loves the bow that is stable.

Spring has sprung

We went for a walk down the block on Sunday. It was so nice. I think Peanut really enjoyed it. Then we went off-roading in the stroller to our backyard, where dad was chopping up the Christmas tree. Yes, you read that correctly. We still had our Christmas tree hanging out in the backyard. Not quite as bad as leaving holiday lights strung on the house in April, but only by a little.

It was definitely a day for free toes.

Are you looking at my pigs?
